ABOUT ME

Being brought up in a small town in India, I have always viewed sustainable living as essential to the development
of global communities. My passion for sustainability began during my undergraduate studies in Chemical
Engineering and led me to pursue postgraduate studies in Biochemical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, where
I developed an integrated biorefinery framework for bioenergy generation, resource recovery, and
bioremediation.

Building on this foundation, I began my doctoral journey in Biological Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where my research focuses on sustainable bioprocess engineering, precision fermentation, and green downstream processing for value-added bioproducts. My long-term research vision is to integrate microbial engineering with advanced bioprocess engineering to develop next-generation sustainable biomanufacturing platforms for high-value chemicals, food ingredients, and biomaterials. I aspire to advance sustainable biomanufacturing through innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the translation of fundamental discoveries into scalable industrial technologies.
